One victim received 89 address poisoning transactions within 30 minutes after making two money transfers.

PANews reported on March 13th that, according to Cryptopolitan, Etherscan has issued a warning to users after a victim received 89 address poisoning transactions within 30 minutes of making two stablecoin transfers. Address poisoning attackers monitor blockchain activity, create fake addresses with similar first and last characters to valid addresses the user has previously interacted with, and send the target small, almost worthless transfers to make it appear in the transaction history, tricking the user into mistakenly copying the attacker's address in subsequent transfers. Etherscan advises users to always verify the complete target address and to use its address highlighting feature to distinguish similar addresses.
