PANews reported on March 17 that, according to The Block, Emanuel Fabian, a military reporter for The Times of Israel, disclosed that he received death threats from bettors on Polymarket over a report he wrote about an Iranian missile attack. Fabian reported on March 10 that an Iranian missile struck an open area near Beit Shemesh, Israel. A Polymarket contract predicting whether Iran would attack Israel on a certain day had over $14 million in bets; according to the rules, if the missile was intercepted, the "yes" result would not be triggered. Fabian said he received dozens of threatening emails, social media messages, and WhatsApp messages demanding he change the report to confirm the missile interception, or they would "kill" him. Fabian refused to change the report, stating it was based on information from Israeli aid services and the military, and that he had reported the matter to the police. Polymarket stated it has banned the relevant accounts and will cooperate with law enforcement.
