Several Argentine banks are testing JPM Coin for intra-regional settlements.

PANews reported on April 7th, citing Cointelegraph, that several Argentine banks are testing JPMorgan Chase's institutional deposit token, JPM Coin, to improve interbank settlement and reconciliation efficiency. The current pilot phase does not involve actual fund transfers; actual clearing is still completed through traditional systems, with blockchain used only for recording and reconciliation. Banco CMF's enterprise services brand QORP has participated in the project, and Banco Galicia, BIND, and Banco Comafi are reportedly also evaluating joining. Meanwhile, the Central Bank of Argentina maintains its ban on banks offering most crypto services to customers but is evaluating the relevant prohibitions; however, this ban does not prevent banks from adopting blockchain infrastructure internally.
