PANews reported on April 10th that, according to official news, the TRON network officially passed Committee Proposal No. 106 at 20:00 on April 10th. According to the proposal, the mainnet has completed adjustments to the behavior and execution cost of the SELFDESTRUCT instruction: the contract will only be truly deleted from the chain if the instruction is invoked within the same transaction where the contract was created; otherwise, executing the instruction will only transfer assets within the contract to the designated address, and the contract itself will not be deleted. Simultaneously, the energy consumption of SELFDESTRUCT has been adjusted from 0 to 5000.
This adjustment means that TRON is further aligned with Ethereum in terms of relevant mechanisms, which will help to continuously improve the compatibility of TVM (TRON Virtual Machine) and provide more stable underlying support for multi-chain development and ecosystem adaptation.
