Virginia has signed a new law that includes digital assets in the category of unclaimed property and places them in physical custody.

PANews reported on April 15th that, according to Cointelegraph, the Governor of Virginia signed HB 798, extending the state's unclaimed property laws to include digital assets. The bill stipulates that digital assets will be physically transferred to state custody, effective July 1, 2026.
