Iranian Foreign Ministry: The focus of negotiations has shifted from the nuclear issue to a complete ceasefire.

PANews reported on April 24 that, according to CCTV, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson issued a formal response on April 23 regarding Speaker of Parliament Mohammad Ghalibaf's appointment as head of the Iranian delegation to the Islamabad negotiations. The spokesperson emphasized that the nature of the recent negotiations has fundamentally changed, with the core issue no longer being the nuclear issue, but rather the complete end of the war. The spokesperson stated that Ghalibaf possesses practical experience from the Iran-Iraq War and has extensive experience in multiple fields. As Speaker of Parliament, he can effectively coordinate domestic forces and enjoys the trust of various political factions. The Iranian side believes that Ghalibaf's partnership with Araghchi, who also has a war background, is an efficient diplomatic combination capable of coordinating the overall situation. The spokesperson clearly pointed out that the nuclear issue is no longer the main focus; the current emphasis of the negotiations is a complete ceasefire, and the primary task is to safeguard the country's core interests. Shortly before this statement was issued, Israeli sources reported that Ghalibaf had resigned from the Iranian negotiating team due to the intervention of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
