U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C.: Will halt investigation into Federal Reserve construction costs involving Powell.

PANews reported on April 24 that U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, Robert Piro, announced the suspension of the investigation into Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell's construction costs. The Fed's inspector general has been asked to review the Fed's spending. Piro stated that he would not hesitate to reopen the investigation into Powell if necessary.

Federal funds rate swap pricing indicates that expectations for a Fed rate cut this year are rising further.
