PANews reported on April 27 that, according to Xinhua News Agency citing the US-based Axios news website on April 26, a US official and two informed sources stated that the US has received a new negotiation proposal from Iran, delivered through Pakistan. The new Iranian negotiation proposal reported by Axios is broadly similar to the three-stage negotiation framework for Iran previously disclosed by Lebanon's Al-Ahram TV. The three stages focus on ending the war, the Strait of Hormuz issue, and nuclear negotiations, in that order. Axios, citing two sources, stated that the new Iranian negotiation proposal first focuses on resolving the Strait of Hormuz crisis and the US blockade. As part of the proposal, the ceasefire will be extended indefinitely or all parties will agree to a permanent end to the conflict. Nuclear negotiations will only begin after the Strait of Hormuz is reopened and the US blockade is lifted.
