US media: Iran proposes a deal to reopen the Straits of Hormuz, but postpones nuclear negotiations.

PANews reported on April 27 that, according to Jinshi, AXIOS, citing a US official and two sources familiar with the matter, revealed that Iran has made a new proposal to the US, suggesting prioritizing an agreement on reopening the Strait of Hormuz and lifting the maritime blockade, while postponing nuclear negotiations to a later stage. This new proposal aims to break the current deadlock in negotiations and bypass disagreements within the Iranian leadership regarding the scope of nuclear concessions they are willing to make to reach an agreement with the Trump administration. According to three US officials, President Trump is expected to hold a situation room meeting on Iran with his senior national security and foreign policy team on Monday. One official stated that the meeting is expected to discuss the current stalemate in negotiations with Iran and possible next steps in the war.
