This donation was not disclosed in accordance with UK campaign finance regulations. Public documents show that Harborne had previously donated approximately £12 million to Reform UK. Reform UK advocates for making the UK a global crypto hub and supports lower capital gains tax on crypto assets; it is the first political party in the UK to accept a crypto donation. This disclosure comes weeks after the UK announced a ban on political donations in crypto form, arguing that crypto could obscure the source of funds and could be used for foreign influence.
