PANews reported on April 30 that the Bank of England kept its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 3.75% for the third consecutive meeting, in line with market expectations. The market continues to bet on a Bank of England rate hike, with a projected increase of 73 basis points in 2026.
Both Scenario A and Scenario B from the Bank of England predict that oil prices will peak at $108 per barrel. Scenario B predicts a mild second-round effect as energy prices remain high for an extended period. Scenario C predicts that inflation will peak above 6% in early 2027.
