Pakistan confirmed that Iran had responded and expressed optimism about the prospects of reaching an agreement.

PANews reported on May 1st, citing CBS News, that Pakistani officials stated on Friday that Iran's latest response to the terms of a peace agreement proposed by the United States has been delivered to US officials. This confirms reports in Iranian state media that Iran has made a new proposal and at least agreed to hold a second round of direct peace talks. Iran's previous proposal attempted to postpone any discussions on the nuclear issue, a plan rejected by Trump. Given Iran's new proposal, the possibility of reaching an agreement is greater than before, and Pakistani officials are optimistic.
