Federal Reserve's Kashkari: Interest rate hikes may be necessary in some cases; open to concerns expressed by Warsh.

PANews reported on May 3rd that, according to Jinshi, Federal Reserve Chairman Neel Kashkari stated that it is necessary to remain open-minded about the future of interest rate policy, as the longer the war lasts, the greater the inflationary pressures will be. In some cases, the Fed may need to raise interest rates, even if the war were to end completely now, as supply chain recovery would take months. He expressed deep concern about the downside risks posed by the war, noting that the Fed faces uncertainty regarding the inflation path, and looked forward to cooperation following Warsh's nomination, remaining open to some of the concerns expressed by Warsh.
