Core Scientific plans to acquire Bitcoin mining company Polaris for $421 million to expand its US AI data center presence.

PANews reported on May 6th that, according to The Block , US-listed mining company Core Scientific announced it will acquire Oklahoma-based Bitcoin mining company Polaris DS LLC for approximately $ 421 million, obtaining a 440- megawatt power contract with Oklahoma Gas & Electric to rapidly expand its AI and high-performance computing hosting business. Polaris' 40- acre campus is already electrified and operational, adjacent to Core's existing facilities in Muskogee . The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026 , subject to regulatory approval. Core is converting some of its Bitcoin mining farms in Texas, Georgia, North Carolina, and Oklahoma into high-density computing facilities, aiming to provide a total of 1 gigawatt of leaseable power at its Muskogee campus to meet the computing power demands of AI and other applications.
