PANews reported on May 15th, citing Cointelegraph, that U.S. Federal Judge John Koeltl sentenced Roni Cohen-Pavon, former Chief Revenue Officer of the defunct cryptocurrency lending platform Celsius, to "served a full sentence" with an additional year of supervised release. Cohen-Pavon initially pleaded not guilty after his arrest in September 2023, but changed his plea to guilty about a week later, admitting to manipulating the price of Celsius's CEL token and platform fraud. He and former CEO Alex Mashinsky were indicted together in July 2023. Cohen-Pavon had previously agreed to pay over $1 million in fines and a $40,000 penalty.
Celsius' former chief revenue officer pleaded guilty and was sentenced to "having served his full sentence".
