Sources say Iran is demanding a permanent end to the war and the lifting of sanctions, and that the nuclear issue will be discussed at a later stage.

PANews reported on May 18, citing Reuters, that a senior Iranian source stated the United States has shown flexibility in current discussions, including regarding restrictions on Iran's nuclear program. Washington has so far only agreed to unfreeze 25% of Iran's funds according to a phased timetable. Tehran has demanded the US unfreeze all funds. Iran's revised proposal calls for a permanent end to the war, the lifting of sanctions, and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran will discuss the nuclear issue at a later stage.
