Trump wants to be the star of the Independence Day opening show; several artists withdraw from the performance.

PANews reported on May 31 that, according to Xinhua News Agency, the United States has planned a series of events to celebrate the 250th anniversary of its independence, including a live concert on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. However, several well-known American musicians have recently announced their withdrawal from the event due to concerns about being drawn into political disputes. On May 30, U.S. President Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with the artists' withdrawals, stating that he planned to hold a political rally with a speech by himself as the "opening show" for the series of celebrations. According to reports from the Associated Press and other foreign media outlets, five of the nine previously announced performers have withdrawn, including Brett Michaels, lead singer of the American rock band, and Martina McBride, a country singer.
