PANews reported on June 1st that, according to 36Kr, ByteDance's Doubao plans to officially launch a paid subscription service in late June, offering multiple tiers from basic to professional versions, with monthly fees up to 500 yuan and annual fees up to 5088 yuan, while continuing to retain free services. Sources familiar with the matter stated that Doubao will integrate with Douyin e-commerce in the third quarter to improve its paid subscription scenarios, using subsidies to drive traffic to the Douyin Mall. It will enter the operational phase in the fourth quarter, and paid penetration will not be a performance indicator for 2026. Doubao has already integrated with Douyin e-commerce, testing the insertion of product recommendations into conversations. Since April, the conversion rate of related product cards clicking and viewing details pages has exceeded 3%. The Doubao app had approximately 336 million monthly active users in April, ranking second globally among chatbots.
