PANews reported on June 9th that, according to CoinDesk, the GO bounty feature on Pump.fun, the Memecoin issuance platform, has sparked controversy. This feature allows users to post tasks and receive rewards upon completion. One user posted a task requiring the tattooing of a token code on their forehead. A user named Arivu completed the task, but tattooed "$boutywork," a misspelled word in the task description, instead of the correct spelling. This misspelling subsequently became the tradable token BOUTYWORK, whose market capitalization once exceeded $600,000 and whose 24-hour trading volume exceeded $3.5 million.
Other controversial tasks included interviewing homeless people in Los Angeles slums, drinking an entire bottle of alcohol, shaving one's head, and shouting "Jobcoin." Observers have criticized the crypto industry, saying it has become an industry that "forces the poor to do shameful things." Pump.fun has previously been embroiled in controversy for livestreaming suicide threats and death threats. Industry insiders point out that such behavior is damaging the reputation of mainstream cryptocurrency adoption.
