PANews reported on June 10th that Alex Finn, founder and CEO of Creator Buddy, analyzed on the X platform that Claude Fable 5 will no longer be included in the Anthropic subscription plan after June 22nd, and users will need to pay for it in tokens based on usage. He believes this is the beginning of a larger trend where cutting-edge models will no longer be included in subscriptions, and subscriptions will only provide access to older, cheaper models. He stated that the previous subscription model was essentially a Ponzi scheme, with AI companies suffering huge losses due to subscriptions. With IPOs approaching, profitability has become essential.
Finn believes this means: users will need to choose appropriate models based on their tasks; demand for local LLM and hardware will increase; users who can afford high costs will build more powerful products, exacerbating the wealth gap; and governments will ultimately need to intervene, providing access to education and AI resources. He suggests users re-evaluate their monthly spending, viewing AI as an investment in their own relevance to the global economy.
