PANews, June 16th - According to an official announcement, Coinbase has partnered with AWS CloudFront and WAF to allow online publishers and API providers to accept AI agents as payment customers via the x402 protocol. Approximately one-quarter of the internet runs on AWS CloudFront, and starting today, these websites can enable x402 through their existing AWS configurations, allowing AI agents to access content on demand and for a fee. When an AI agent requests content, the server returns an HTTP 402 status code and a payment request. After the agent pays, the request is verified through Coinbase's x402 Facilitator, and the content is then served—all within a single request cycle.
