WSJ: Polymarket Hires Creators to Post Fake Trading Profit Videos

PANews, June 21 – According to an investigation by The Wall Street Journal, prediction market platform Polymarket has been paying content creators to post fake trading videos on social media in order to attract users. The creators used simulated sites closely resembling Polymarket’s real website to film “betting” and “winning” scenes, with some of the content showing profits that were never actually realized. Some videos were also submitted to Polymarket for review. Polymarket managed the influencer promotion campaigns through the marketing firm Virality, and despite its restricted U.S. services / international user positioning, the related activities were still found to have clearly reached U.S. users.
