Kraken parent company sues derivatives platform PowerTrade, accusing it of 'misappropriating' $7.2 million in funds

PANews June 25 news, according to CoinDesk, Kraken parent company Payward has filed an application in U.S. federal court to seek discovery from crypto derivatives platform PowerTrade and its co-founders, accusing them of "misappropriating" approximately $7.2 million in digital assets and unrealized gains. The complaint alleges that PowerTrade unilaterally, through about 100 "correction" trades, retroactively cancelled profitable positions that had already expired or settled months earlier, turning Payward's account at PowerTrade from a positive balance of over $6 million into a negative balance of nearly $2 million, and then attempting to seize its bitcoin collateral on that basis. Payward has obtained a worldwide interim freezing order from the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts and has initiated further legal proceedings in multiple jurisdictions.
