Trump: UK and US are negotiating a trade agreement

PANews reported on February 28 that US President Trump met with visiting British Prime Minister Starmer. After the meeting, the two sides held a joint press conference. Regarding the topic of US-UK trade and cooperation between the two countries, Trump said that the United States and the United Kingdom are negotiating a bilateral trade agreement. Trump said that the two sides will reach a "great trade deal" and will eventually reach a very good deal for both countries. They are working hard for this and expect to reach the agreement with the United Kingdom soon. Starmer said that the two countries have begun to work on a new economic agreement centered on advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence to strengthen their trade relations. As for Trump's recent threats to impose tariffs on other countries, Trump said that he and Starmer discussed the US's tariffs on the United Kingdom, and Starmer tried to persuade him not to impose tariffs on the United Kingdom. Trump also said that if the two sides reach a trade agreement, there is no need to impose tariffs on the United Kingdom.
