PANews reported on September 19th that, according to The Block, US Senator Elizabeth Warren and her colleagues urged the Trump administration to disclose more information about its interactions with Binance. In a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi on Thursday, Warren and others stated they were seeking details about Binance's compliance obligations in the United States. The senators first inquired about Binance's conversations with federal cabinet officials in May, covering its withdrawal from the US market, regulatory obligations, and the Department of Justice's measures to ensure compliance. They also inquired about the possibility of a presidential pardon for former CEO Changpeng Zhao. They noted that since May, Trump and his family have strengthened their financial ties with Binance through the company, and that news broke this week that Binance may have reached an agreement with the US Department of Justice to replace its external compliance monitor. The three lawmakers believe the Department of Justice has not adequately responded to their previous inquiries and requested an updated response by October 1st. They also noted that while the Department of Justice stated that Binance had paid a fine and that the plea agreement had continuing requirements, it had not confirmed Binance's compliance.
