French regulators are stepping up scrutiny of crypto platforms' anti-money laundering efforts, with Binance being asked to strengthen its compliance.

PANews reported on October 17th that, according to Bloomberg, the French Prudential Supervision and Resolution Authority (ACPR) is conducting anti-money laundering/counter-terrorist financing compliance checks on dozens of PSAN-registered crypto service providers. This includes over 100 entities, including Binance and Coinhouse. According to reports, during an on-site inspection last year, the ACPR required Binance to strengthen its risk and compliance controls (hiring additional compliance personnel, improving IT security, etc.) and gave it several months to rectify the situation. The inspection results will be shared with the AMF; failure to comply could affect the company's ability to obtain the EU-wide MiCA (MiCA) cross-border license. French companies must obtain approval by the end of June 2026, and only a few (Deblock, GOin, Bitstack, and CACEIS) have so far.
