Hong Kong plans to expand restrictions on misleading financial names to include words such as "virtual assets"

PANews reported on June 12 that the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission proposed to expand the list of restricted titles under the Securities and Futures Ordinance and the Anti-Money Laundering Ordinance to cover terms such as "trading platform" and "virtual assets" to prevent unregulated institutions from misleading the public. The consultation period will last until August 11.
