PANews reported on March 5 that according to official news, blockchain infrastructure providers such as Chainlink and Hyperlane and protocol Velodrome officially launched the new interoperable USDT token OpenUSDT to the OP Superchain ecosystem. OpenUSDT is collateralized by the native USDT locked on the Celo chain, using Chainlink CCIP and Hyperlane to achieve cross-chain transmission, providing liquidity for the stablecoin USDT on Superchain.

Starting today, OpenUSDT is officially launched on Base, Fraxtal, Lisk, Metal, Mode, Optimism, Soneium, and Unichain blockchains, with its native USDT locked on Celo. The Superchain network can now access Tether's USDT in a permissionless manner, and various cross-chain DeFi protocols can also directly access these USDTs.
