The Japanese House of Representatives has been formally dissolved.

PANews reported on January 23 that, according to CCTV, the Japanese Diet opened and the House of Representatives held a plenary session. Speaker Fukushiro Nukaga read the imperial edict of dissolution, officially dissolving the House of Representatives. That morning, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi decided to dissolve the House of Representatives at a cabinet meeting. Subsequently, Takaichi and all cabinet members signed the resolution to dissolve the House of Representatives.
