South Korean regulators expand AI system to track cryptocurrency manipulation.

PANews reported on February 2nd, citing Cointelegraph, that South Korea's Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) has upgraded its "Virtual Asset Trading Analysis Intelligent System" (VISTA) for investigating improper cryptocurrency trading, adding an automated detection algorithm. This algorithm uses a sliding window grid search technique to automatically scan all possible sub-cycles within the trading dataset, identifying potential price manipulation periods without human intervention. The regulator stated that performance tests on completed cases showed the system could detect all previously identified manipulation periods, while also identifying additional suspicious periods that traditional analysis struggles to detect.
