PANews reported on January 26 that Neo co-founder Erik Zhang released a statement after meeting with Da Hongfei, saying the outcome was neither expected nor pleasant. He stated that although Da Hongfei mentioned "limited cooperation," he did not provide any specific details on key issues.
Zhang Zhengwen put forward three minimum demands: the establishment of an effective and verifiable financial supervision and management mechanism, the abandonment of the new project EON, which directly competes with Neo, and authorization for him to use the official website and official X account to release information. He stated that all three demands were explicitly rejected. Based on the outcome of this meeting and his assessment of Neo's development, Zhang Zhengwen formally called on Da Hongfei to resign from his leadership position within the Neo ecosystem in a statement.
