PANews reported on December 17 that according to CoinDesk, ENS Labs, the company behind the Ethereum domain name service, said on Tuesday that it has selected Linea's technology to build its upcoming Layer2 network Namechain. Linea is a zero-knowledge rollup technology launched by Ethereum infrastructure giant Consensys in July 2023.

ENS Labs said it chose Linea to build its network for two reasons: one was a fit of values and the other was about speed. ENS will be one of the first major projects to build a Layer 2 blockchain based on Linea technology.
