SlowMist: Hackers launch social engineering attacks by forging video call links to induce downloading of malicious scripts

PANews reported on March 12 that according to SlowMist monitoring, hackers recently used fake video call links to launch social engineering attacks to trick victims into downloading malicious scripts. In one case, the attacker first hacked into the Telegram account of the victim's friend, and then initiated a video call through the victim's trusted contacts to carry out the attack. If you suspect your device is infected, it is recommended to take immediate action:

1️⃣ Protect your assets: If your private key/mnemonic phrase has been stored on your PC, please transfer your funds as soon as possible;

2️⃣ Change password & 2FA: Update Telegram, X, email, exchange accounts, and check for unknown login records;

3️⃣ Perform a full disk virus scan: Use security software such as AVG, Bitdefender, Kaspersky, etc.

4️⃣ If in doubt, reset the system: back up important files, format and scan thoroughly before restoring data.
