Musk adds Microsoft as defendant in lawsuit against OpenAI

PANews reported on November 15 that according to Business Insider, Elon Musk added Microsoft as a defendant in the lawsuit against OpenAI, accusing the two of a de facto "merger" and anti-competitive behavior. The lawsuit also named Microsoft board member and former OpenAI board member Reid Hoffman as a defendant, and pointed out that OpenAI "plundered" the talent in the AI industry by "poaching" with high salaries. Musk said that the cooperation between OpenAI and Microsoft has controlled about 70% of the generative AI market, forming a monopoly aimed at "limiting" competitors.

Musk's lawyers pointed out that OpenAI's employee salaries can be as high as $800,000, and the overall labor cost will reach $1.5 billion. The lawsuit also said that OpenAI required investors in its recent financing round not to invest in competitors, including Musk's AI company xAI.
