The Winklevoss brothers donated 3,221 ZECs to Shielded Labs to support the development of the Zcash privacy protocol.

PANews reported on January 21 that, according to an announcement from Shielded Labs, Gemini co-founders Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss recently donated 3,221 ZEC (approximately $1.2 million) to the organization to support core R&D projects for the Zcash network, including the Sustainable Development Mechanism (NSM), the Crosslink cross-chain protocol, and the dynamic fee system. The two have long supported the Zcash privacy currency concept; Gemini had previously been the first to support ZEC's Orchard privacy withdrawal functionality. This is their second donation to Shielded Labs, aiming to advance the continued evolution of Zcash's decentralized and privacy technologies.
