PANews reported on January 2 that according to Cryptonews, the decentralized exchange Uniswap announced that Uniswap version 4 (v4) will be "coming soon" in 2025, after failing to release it in the third quarter of 2024 as originally planned. It is worth noting that the announcement did not specify a release date. The platform was still in testing throughout 2024.

Uniswap v4 is expected to introduce significant architectural changes, including features such as Hooks to execute custom code before and after swaps. These enhancements will enable features such as limit orders, custom oracles, fee management, and automated liquidity strategies. Other updates include dynamic fees, gas savings, flash accounting, native ETH support, and multiple pool types.
