PANews reported on August 29th that Bloomberg News reported that gaming technology startup PlaysOut is considering raising up to $15 million in new equity funding at a valuation exceeding $150 million, citing people familiar with the matter. The company has begun discussions with potential investors, including Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds and some of the world's top venture capital firms. PlaysOut may use the funds to advance its commercialization efforts, according to people familiar with the matter.
PlaysOut's platform and infrastructure tools allow mini-games to be published within super apps like Tencent Holdings Limited's WeChat, which integrates instant messaging, social media, mobile payments, and a vast ecosystem of services. The company closed a $7 million seed round in March, led by OKX Ventures, KBW Ventures, and Kenetic Capital. PlaysOut is also working with partners such as Aptos and B3 to develop Web3 gaming infrastructure and is collaborating with DogeOS and Eros to launch co-branded mini-games.
