PANews reported on May 20 that according to the announcement of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Katherine Reilly replaced the retiring Deborah Jeffrey as the SEC's Acting Inspector General. Reilly has served in the SEC's Office of Inspector General since 2020 and has held legal and supervisory positions at the FTC, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and the Department of Justice. She holds a law degree from the University of Texas and a master's degree in law from the University of Melbourne, and will continue to promote SEC regulatory efficiency and transparency in her new position.
