EU expects US to maintain tariffs as talks make little progress

PANews reported on April 15 that according to foreign media reports, this week, the European Union and the United States made little progress in bridging trade differences, and officials from President Trump's administration said that most of the obstructive tariffs imposed by Trump will not be lifted. On Monday, EU Trade Commissioner Šefčović met with US Secretary of Commerce and US Trade Representative Greer for about two hours, but was not clear about the US's goals. Sources said that US officials said that the "reciprocal" tariff policy and other tariffs on industries including automobiles and metals will not be lifted immediately.
