PANews reported on February 5 that according to Cointelegraph, Google CEO Sundar Pichai expects the company to invest approximately $75 billion in capital expenditures in 2025 to promote the development of artificial intelligence products. Pichai said in a statement on Google's parent company Alphabet's fourth quarter 2024 financial report: "We expect capital expenditures to reach approximately $75 billion in 2025." This figure is a 43% increase from the company's $32.3 billion capital expenditure in 2023. He said the investment will "accelerate the process of artificial intelligence innovation" and continue to strengthen the company's core business.
It’s unclear how much of this investment will be devoted specifically to AI, but much of it is expected to go toward expanding Google’s AI infrastructure. Other large tech companies have also increased spending on AI-related projects, including Meta, which said it would spend $65 billion to expand its AI infrastructure.
