PANews reported on May 1 that the Malaysian police destroyed an illegal Bitcoin mining electricity theft gang in Ulu Terengganu and Malang during yesterday's Op Letrik operation. 45 mining machines and related equipment worth about 225,000 Malaysian ringgits were seized in the operation. The illegal theft of electricity resulted in a monthly loss of about 36,000 Malaysian ringgits. The case is being investigated under relevant laws, and the criminals may face up to five years in prison and a fine of 100,000 Malaysian ringgits.
