Three US service members were killed in the fighting. Trump stated, "Unfortunately, this is something that can happen. Casualties can happen repeatedly—it's possible that they will happen again." Trump acknowledged that these three casualties are the first such incident during his second term. Regarding the timeline of the Iran conflict, Trump said, "We expect it to last about four weeks. This is a large country, and it will take about four weeks—or less." He said that so far, the outcomes of the attacks have not surprised him.
