PANews reported on March 8th that, according to information on the U.S. Maritime Administration's website, the U.S. has cancelled its previous warning requiring commercial vessels to avoid navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf as much as possible. It is unclear whether this cancellation will alleviate concerns among ship owners and crew regarding the safety of the waterways. According to the website, this cancelled warning was originally scheduled to expire on March 13th. Another maritime warning targeting Iran expired on Saturday.
