Polymarket is seeking to hire a Chief Risk Officer after expanding its legal team.

PANews reported on March 19th, citing Bloomberg, that prediction market platform Polymarket is seeking to appoint a Chief Risk Officer to expand its regulated operations in the United States. This move is in response to a CFTC requirement that Polymarket's U.S. operations must have a Chief Risk Officer for oversight. However, CFTC rules prohibit the listing of certain controversial contracts in the U.S., such as those related to international war, which are still offered in Polymarket's international operations. Prior to seeking a Chief Risk Officer, Polymarket has expanded its legal team in recent months, including hiring several lawyers from firms such as Sullivan & Cromwell, RBC Capital, and Proskauer Rose.
