PANews reported on March 19 that, according to Eleanor Terrett, US Senate Republicans held a closed-door meeting regarding the structure of the cryptocurrency market. White House Crypto Council Executive Director Patrick Witt and Senator Cynthia Lummis were among those in attendance. Lummis stated after the meeting that negotiations regarding yield/rewards are progressing but remain in a "delicate state," with the focus shifting from the legislative text itself to "who needs to be won over." She noted that "the views of some key figures changed" during the meeting, leading to previously unexpected developments. Patrick Witt appeared displeased after the meeting but declined to comment, and Senator Tim Scott also refused to be interviewed in the hallway.
