The ban on encrypted self-service machines in Tennessee, USA, will take effect on July 1.

PANews reported on April 28 that, according to Cointelegraph, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has signed HB2505, banning the use and installation of cryptocurrency self-service kiosks in the state starting July 1. Operators and installers face up to 11 months and 29 days in jail and a $2,500 fine. The bill's sponsor stated that cryptocurrency self-service kiosks have become a channel for scammers to exploit Tennessee residents, especially the elderly.

According to CoinATMRadar data, there are currently more than 570 crypto self-service machines in the state, operated by companies including Bitcoin Depot and CoinFlip.
