Reports indicate that Meta is preparing to withdraw its acquisition of Manus.

PANews reported on April 28 that, according to the Wall Street Journal, sources familiar with the matter said that Meta is preparing to withdraw from the acquisition of Manus after the Office of the Foreign Investment Security Review Mechanism under China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) issued a decision prohibiting foreign investment in the project. The sources also stated that several former Asian investors in Manus, including Tencent, Sequoia China, and ZhenFund, are planning to cooperate if Meta proceeds with the withdrawal process.

Earlier yesterday, the National Development and Reform Commission announced that it had made a decision to prohibit foreign investment in the Manus project in accordance with laws and regulations.
