Coinbase launches support for Australian self-managed superannuation programs, allowing investment in digital assets such as Bitcoin.

PANews reported on May 4th that Coinbase announced the official launch of its Self-Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) support in Australia, providing Australian trustees with compliant and secure digital asset investment solutions to help diversify their retirement portfolios. This service leverages Coinbase's recently obtained Australian Financial Services License (AFSL) and local expertise.

According to data from the Australian Taxation Office, there are currently over 653,000 SMSFs in Australia managing AUD 1.05 trillion in assets and boasting more than 1.2 million members. SMSFs are among the few retirement structures globally that offer this flexibility, allowing individuals to directly manage digital assets. Coinbase's SMSF solution provides a streamlined entity verification process, audit reports compliant with local accounting standards, and institutional-grade security, helping Australian investors incorporate cryptocurrency into their long-term retirement strategies.
