Kraken launches regulated cryptocurrency spot leveraged trading in the US, offering up to 10x leverage.

PANews reported on May 6th that, according to The Block , Kraken has launched CFTC -regulated cryptocurrency spot leveraged trading for US retail investors. This is the first product launched by its parent company, Payward, based on the relevant licenses after acquiring Bitnomial . Users can use their cryptocurrency holdings as collateral to obtain liquidity and trade with up to 10x leverage without having to sell assets. Kraken stated that previously, US retail investors had difficulty using such tools in a regulated environment, forcing some trading to shift to unregulated offshore platforms. Payward indicated that the Bitnomial acquisition will pave the way for the subsequent launch of regulated spot leveraged, perpetual, and options products in the US, and will also support Kraken's plans for a potential IPO and its expansion of institutional and derivatives businesses in the UK and Europe.
