PANews reported on June 13 that, according to Xinhua News Agency, some banks in Iran experienced technical malfunctions on the 13th, including the National Bank of Iran, the Export Bank of Iran, and the Commercial Bank of Iran.
According to Iran's Tasnim News Agency, since earlier on the 13th, some customers reported abnormal operations in certain services and banking systems of the aforementioned banks, including mobile banking, online banking, ATMs, card readers, and some bank card services. Iran's Fars News Agency reported that there were reports of a possible cyberattack, but this has not yet been officially confirmed. The banks involved stated that their technical departments are investigating the cause of the malfunction and have initiated repair work. Qatasi, secretary of the Coordinating Committee of Iran's state-owned banks, said on the 13th that necessary repair measures had been taken.
